    Tina J. Capito, M.Ed., a dedicated educator and community member for children and their fundamental needs, with over 25 years in various roles. She began her journey in Central Texas in 2009 as a military spouse. Starting her career in 1996 as a public educator, she transitioned to specialize in supporting children with disabilities before channeling her passion towards foster care children. Throughout her journey, Tina served as a KISD transition specialist and a special education teacher for two decades, amassing invaluable experience. Although she has left the field of education, she continues to serve special-needs children and adults, including being a TEDx Speaker on Transition.

    In May 2024, Tina was elected to her first term on the Killeen Independent School District Board of Trustees. Currently, she holds the esteemed position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Garden of Hope Foster Care Agency, where she continues her unwavering commitment to fostering brighter futures for children. Additionally, she proudly serves on various boards in the community. 

    Tina's dedication extends beyond her professional life as a mother to two wonderful children, Andruw and Jaylyn, and a Nana to her first grandchild, Malia. When she's not tirelessly advocating for youth, she indulges her love for reading and enjoys engaging in the game of volleyball. With a genuine belief in the power of community collaboration, Tina J. Capito is determined to empower the next generation and nurture healthy, happy, and successful adults.
