Mission Statement
The Killeen ISD Police Department is committed to protecting our future by providing a safe and positive educational environment for students, staff, and other shareholders in order for students to learn at their maximum potential.
License and Certified Law Enforcement Agency
In 1989, the Killeen Independent School District established the district's police departments to provide law enforcement services to the district's two high schools. The department has since grown from 2 officers to more than 60 officers including the Chief of Police. Officers are licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and have police powers on district property and within the district's boundaries. These officers provide police services for all KISD schools and departments located in Killeen, Harker Heights, and Nolanville. The District schools on Fort Cavazos are supported by the Fort Cavazos Military Police.
During the school day, officers are assigned to various campuses or patrol to provide a safe and secure environment for all students, staff and visitors. In addition, officers provide law enforcement services throughout the district at various extracurricular events and programs.Policy
It is the policy of the Killeen Independent School District (KISD) Police Department to manage its employees and resources in a manner that maximizes departmental operations, efficiency and service while supporting the mission of the district. The officers of the Department are dedicated to a set of values which will guide the agency in providing a quality education for all stakeholders.

Students had the opportunity to:
✅ Activate the vehicle’s emergency lights and sirens
✅ Sit in the caged back seat of the patrol car
✅ Ask officers questions about their jobs and daily dutiesThe students were thrilled to interact with officers and see a police car up close. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and their questions were both insightful and entertaining!
