  • Advanced Academics

    Killeen ISD is committed to serving the unique needs of all students through an array of learning opportunities. Identified gifted and talented students receive differentiated instruction in English, mathematics, science, and social studies. At the middle and high schools, students may enroll in a variety of Advanced Placement (AP) and pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP). High school students can earn college credit hours via dual credit and articulated courses offered through partnerships with Central Texas College and the Texas Bioscience Institute or with a successful score on an Advanced Placement exam. Killeen ISD also participates in the International Baccalaureate Programme which helps students to develop the intellectual, personal, emotional, and social skills needed to live, learn, and work in a rapidly globalizing world.

    The Killeen ISD Athletics Department plays an integral part in student learning and the development of well-rounded students. Participation in athletics promotes high academic standards along with developing a strong character. KISD coaches are committed to developing our students in order for them to reach their maximum potential. The Athletics Department provides sports and University Interscholastic League (UIL) athletic activities. Secondary students who wish to participate in team sports may select from Athletic Training, Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Powerlifting,  Soccer, Softball, Strength & Conditioning, Swimming, Tennis,

  • Early College High School

    Early College High School is a designation through the Texas Education Agency for innovative high schools located on or near a college campus that allows students an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and an associate degree (up to 60 college credit hours). Students have access to Central Texas College facilities, resources and services, including the faculty, libraries, labs, artistic and cultural activities, and extracurricular activities, as appropriate. There is no cost to the student to attend. KISD will pay for tuition, fees and required textbooks to the extent that those charges are not waived by Central Texas College.

    The Killeen Independent School District's Guidance and Counseling Department is committed to delivering a thorough developmental school counseling program, overseen by Certified School Counselors at all grade levels, from PK to 12, on each campus.   • Special Education

    Killeen ISD offers individualized Special Education services for eligible students with disabilities residing in Killeen, Harker Heights, Nolanville, and Fort Cavazos. These services enable students to make progress in the general curriculum, participate in extracurricular activities, and learn alongside their peers at no cost to parents. Special Education services are determined by the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee and can be provided in various instructional settings, such as direct instruction in a small group or pull-out services. Killeen ISD also offers related services like occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling services, and adaptive physical education for qualified students. To qualify for Special Education, students must be evaluated under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004.
