Dr. Christina Walker

Hey Roos!

My name is Christina Walker. I was born and raised in Canada, which is where I began my teaching career. In 2004, I moved overseas to teach in South Korea. I went over intending to teach there for 1-2 years but ended up staying for almost ten!  I taught all levels of students, ranging from Pre-K to adults.

I moved from Korea to Texas and began teaching ELA/ESL and Theatre Arts at the middle school level.  I then accepted a leadership position as Academic Advisor, where I oversaw many of the campus’s special programs.  From there, I became the Secondary District At-Risk, Dyslexia, Section 504, and General Education Homebound Specialist.

I am so honored to be part of the Roo family as your Dean of Instruction! My goal is to continue to help both students and teachers meet their fullest potential. I believe it is important to develop the whole student. Emphasis needs to be placed on a student’s academics as well as the potential to grow and develop socially, emotionally, physically, mentally, and civically.  I firmly believe that all students and teachers need to feel valued and respected. They need to know that their thoughts, opinions, and beliefs are important.

I hope this helps you to get to know me a bit better!  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.  My door is always open!
