Dear Parents/Guardians,

We want to let you know about an amazing opportunity for your students here at KHS! All of our students are invited to apply for our AVID Program. AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a program that helps students succeed during high school and also prepares them for success after high school. In our AVID Elective class, students get to participate in team building activities, learn study skills, listen to guest speakers, visit colleges, and learn how to plan for the future. Twice a week we participate in tutorials, during which students bring questions from their other classes and receive guidance and clarification from their peers. During their junior year, AVID students receive help studying for and preparing for their SAT/ACT college entrance exams, and during their senior year, AVID students receive help applying for colleges, universities, FAFSA, and scholarships.
