Killeen ISD is holding a job fair on Saturday, March 29 from 8:30 a.m.-noon at Harker Heights High School to hire all positions for the upcoming school year. As the largest district in the region, KISD offers competitive salaries and great benefit packages.
“We’re looking for men and women to fill a variety of positions – from teachers, paraprofessionals and librarians to maintenance workers and groundskeepers, school nutrition team members, clinic aids, bus drivers and custodial staff,” said William Baker, assistant superintendent of human resources. “The common thread is that they should find meaning in supporting Killeen ISD’s mission to teach so that students learn to their maximum potential.”
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply online before the job fair. They can view a list of current openings and apply at www.killeenisd.org/apply. Applicants will have the opportunity to interview on-site and receive conditional offers of employment.
The starting salary of a beginning KISD teacher is $58,000, and the district offers competitive stipends to include the bilingual teacher stipend of $7,500 and the Special Education self-contained teacher stipend of $5,000. Employees also have access to low-cost healthcare benefits, life insurance, and resources to support mental well-being and financial wellness. Employees also receive priority consideration for school transfer requests within KISD.
Aspiring educators in Killeen ISD should attend the job fair to learn how to be reimbursed up to $5,000 for their Alternative Certification with a teaching commitment to the district.
