Community Engagement Councils: Shaping Our Future Together
Throughout Killeen ISD, we place great importance on the input of our community partners and parents when making significant decisions within our district. If you are interested in contributing and serving on one of our District Advisory Councils, please complete the application below. District Community/Parent Advisory Council
Meeting Dates and Presentation
Time: 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Location: Jackson Professional Learning Center, Conference Room AAims and Objectives
The District Parent/ Community Advisory Council comprises parents and community members representing each Title I school, who contribute valuable perspectives.
Inclusion and Representation
The council comprises a maximum of 75 parents/community members and will serve a two-year term.
Tenure and Responsibilities
Each member's tenure spans two academic years, during which they participate in monthly meetings during the academic calendar year.
Through this combined endeavor, the district advances toward its goals, nurturing a lively exchange of ideas and seamlessly incorporating teacher perspectives into the decision-making framework.

Aims and Objectives
The KISD Teacher Advisory Council is a vital advisory body to the Deputy Superintendent, fostering engagement and leadership development among teachers and staff. The Council aligns with the district’s overarching vision, mission, and objectives by incorporating teacher insights and active participation across all aspects of the four priorities outlined in the District's Balanced Scorecard.
Inclusion and Representation
The council comprises a maximum of 100 teachers serving a two-year term. These representatives are celebrated for their accomplishments and contribute their expertise to the council.
Tenure and Responsibilities
Each member's tenure spans two academic years, during which they participate in monthly meetings. Beyond these meetings, KTAC members may be called upon to contribute in various capacities, responding to the Deputy Superintendent's invitations and initiatives. This collaborative effort propels the district towards its goals, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and ensuring teacher perspectives are woven into decision-making.

Aims and Objectives
The District Support Staff Advisory Council (DSSAC) serves as a vital advisory body to the Deputy Superintendent, fostering engagement and nurturing leadership development amongst support staff. DSSAC is in alignment with the district's overarching vision, mission, and goals, as it integrates teacher insights and encourages active participation across all facets of the four priorities outlined in the District's Balanced Scorecard.
Inclusion and Representation
DSSAC comprises a maximum of 100 support staff, with representatives selected from departments such as Cleaning Services, Transportation, School Nutrition, Maintenance, and other supporting departments. Serving a two-year term, these representatives lend their invaluable expertise, enriching the council's proceedings with their contributions.
Tenure and Responsibilities
Each member's tenure spans two academic years, during which they participate in meetings, as per the academic calendar. Beyond these meetings, DSSAC members may be called upon to contribute in various capacities, responding to invitations and initiatives set forth by the Director of Auxiliary Human Resources. Through united efforts in this collaborative initiative, the district advances nearer to its objectives, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and seamlessly infusing the perspectives of our support staff into the process of decision-making.
