Mrs. Berg

Denise Berg is a through-and-through Texas girl! Having been raised in Central Texas, she is a product of Killeen Independent School District. Mrs. Berg graduated from Killeen High School in 1987. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 2015 and began her teaching career at Audie Murphy Middle School. 

Before earning her degree, Mrs. Berg was an educational aide at Reeces Creek Elementary School, and Shoemaker High School before becoming a secretary in the Assistant Principal’s Office. Mrs. Berg taught 6th grade Language Arts & Reading at Audie Murphy Middle School for 8 years.  In 2021, Mrs. Berg earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, as well as her Principal Certification, from the University of Texas at Permian Basin and became an Assistant Principal at Charles Patterson Middle School.

In 1989, Mrs. Berg married Kelly Berg, and they have been married for 35 years. Mr. Berg is a teacher within the KISD system and is currently teaching at Chapparal High School. They are both incredibly proud parents to two children, Sami, and Andrew Berg, who are also products of KISD, having both graduated from Shoemaker High School in 2009 and 2011. Her daughter Sami is a US History Teacher at Harker Heights High School, and her son Andrew is a Business Analyst for the Scott & White Health Plan. Andrew’s wife, Kasandra Berg, is also a teacher. She currently teaches at the Killeen Career Center. Mrs. Berg is also a proud grandparent to Imogen (Immy Lu), daughter of her son Andrew and Kasey.

Mrs. Berg is beyond excited to launch the new position of Dean of Instruction and can’t wait to start the school year!! Go Cavs!
