Mrs. Cotton
Born in Puerto Rico, Mrs. Cotton was a military child and lived in California, Germany, and New York, before coming to Texas. Raised in Killeen, she graduated from Killeen High School and then attended Tarleton State University-Central Texas and earned her undergraduate degree. She also has her master’s degree in educational administration from the University of North Texas.
Mrs. Cotton began her teaching career in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. She has worked as an elementary teacher, elementary Spanish teacher, reading and math interventionist, and instructional coach.
Her passion is working with students who are Emergent Bilinguals. She served as the ESL Teacher at Charles Patterson Middle School for 3 years before becoming the Academic Advisor. She is excited to continue in this role as she starts her 23rd year in education.
Mrs. Cotton is married to Brian Cotton, the attendance officer at Chapparal High School.
When school is not in session, Mrs. Cotton enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and volunteering in the community through various organizations she is involved with.
