Mrs. Cotton

 
Mrs. Cotton was born in Puerto Rico and grew up as a military child, living in California, Germany, and New York before eventually settling in Texas. Raised in Killeen, she graduated from Killeen High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University–Central Texas. She also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas.
 
Her teaching career began in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and she has served in various roles, including elementary teacher, Spanish teacher, reading and math interventionist, and instructional coach.
 
Mrs. Cotton has a deep passion for supporting Emergent Bilingual students. She taught ESL at Charles Patterson Middle School for three years before serving as the Academic Advisor for six years. Now entering her 24th year in education, she is excited to take on a new challenge as the Campus Instructional Specialist.
She is married to Brian Cotton, the attendance officer at Chaparral High School.
When school is not in session, Mrs. Cotton enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and volunteering with her non-profit.
