Greetings Leopard Nation!

My name is Renecia HarrisRuffin, and I am the STEM Academy Advisor at Roy J. Smith Middle School. Being a part of the Leopard family is such an honor!

Born in raised in Central Texas, Killeen has always been home. In 2003, I started working in education. I first worked as a substitute teacher before deciding to become a paraprofessional in 2006. I graduated from Texas A&M Central Texas with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2015. I started working as a Special Education Resource/Inclusion Teacher in 2018. I earned a Master of Education in Counseling from Lamar University in 2021 and began working as a District Behavior Coordinator in Copperas Cove ISD the same year.

When I am not making a difference in the lives of others, you can find me spending quality time with my family, indulging in a delightful book or shopping.

As the STEM Academy Advisor, my role is to provide education, career, and guidance services to STEM Academy students on our campus. I will also collaborate with school personnel, students, parents and the community to plan, implement, evaluate, and promote continuous improvement of STEM Academy.

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
