Ms. Shatilya Brooks

It is a privilege and an honor to serve the students of KISD! Hello, my name is Shatilya Brooks, I am a Career & Technical Education Counselor serving Ellison High School students. I’ve served as an educator for 14 years, beginning my career as a College and Career Readiness teacher at Fairway Middle School specializing in teen leadership and guiding students through the career exploration process. I also had the pleasure of serving at Patterson Middle School as a teacher, and I am currently serving at the KISD Career Center specializing in counseling and secondary academic planning.

I enjoy supporting students attending the Career Center while maintaining a focus on empowering them to be knowledgeable, confident in their skills, prepared and competitive as they transition into post-secondary education in pursuit of career opportunities as productive members of society.

I am a product of Killeen ISD and a graduate of Ellison High School. I received an Associate of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Central Texas College and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Tarleton State University-Central Texas. Furthermore, I received a Master’s in Education-Curriculum & Instruction from Texas A&M-Central Texas and a Post Master’s in School Counseling and Guidance Services from Angelo State University.

My husband and I have been married for 18 years with three beautiful children; Lauren, Maurice Jr., and Faith. Lauren is currently in the 11^th grade, Maurice and Faith are currently in the 4^th grade at KISD. I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve in a school district that strives to maximize the potential of every student and provide many pathways to explore and develop their unique skills and abilities.
