Ms. Shatilya Brooks

As a school counselor, my mission is to support all students. I am dedicated to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and safe environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued. It is my goal to ensure that all students have access to the resources and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, we can foster a sense of belonging and empower each student to reach their full potential.

I began my journey as a College and Career Readiness teacher at Fairway Middle School, where I specialized in teen leadership and career exploration. My path has taken me to Patterson Middle School as a teacher, and now to the KISD Career Center, where I focus on counseling and secondary academic planning. I am passionate about supporting students as they navigate their options and prepare for post-secondary education and future careers.

As a proud graduate of Killeen ISD and Ellison High School, I understand the importance of our community's support in shaping our students’ futures. I hold an Associate of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Tarleton State University-Central Texas, a Master’s in Education-Curriculum & Instruction from Texas A&M-Central Texas, and a Post Master’s in School Counseling and Guidance Services from Angelo State University.

My goal is to empower our students to become knowledgeable, confident, and competitive as they transition into the next phases of their lives. Together, we can ensure they are prepared to be productive members of society, ready to seize the career opportunities that lie ahead. I look forward to working with you and your child!
