Mr. Miguel Timarky

Killeen ISD has named Miguel Timarky as the interim principal of the Killeen ISD Career Center, effective immediately.

Timarky, a dedicated educator and experienced campus leader, brings to the role a deep understanding of instructional excellence, career readiness, and student-centered learning. With over two decades of experience in education, he is known for building strong teams, fostering academic growth, and advancing opportunities for all students.

“Mr. Timarky has a proven commitment to both student achievement and workforce development,” Superintendent Dr. Jo Ann Fey said. “His experience leading at every level—from classroom to campus—makes him exceptionally well-suited to guide the Career Center during this time of transition.”

Timarky currently serves as dean of instruction at the Career Center, where he has helped lead innovative instructional practices and industry-aligned programs. He previously served as assistant principal at the campus. Before joining the Career Center team, he was principal of Copperas Cove High School for five years and earlier in his career served as a special education teacher at Ellison High School.

“I am honored to step into this role and support the outstanding students and staff at the Career Center,” Timarky said. “I believe in the power of hands-on learning, strong community partnerships, and creating clear pathways to future success for every student.”

A U.S. military veteran, Timarky brings to his work a steady leadership style and a strong sense of service. His familiarity with the KISD Career Center, along with his instructional knowledge and leadership experience, made him a natural choice for the role.

Timarky replaces Dr. Elizabeth Cunningham, who was recently named principal of Chaparral High School.
