Hello Silver Stars!

My name is Searcy Storey Jr. and I am a new Assistant Principal at Skipcha Elementary School. I have a Bachelor of Applied and Sciences degree in Business Occupations from Texas A&M University-Central Texas and a Master of Business Administration from Excelsior College. This will be my 11^th year as an educator serving students and families of KISD. Throughout my education career, I have served as a substitute teacher, a self-contained aide, a self-contained teacher (for both Skills and PBS), a resource/inclusion special education teacher, and high school 504 coordinator. As an Assistant Principal, I look forward to serving the Silver Stars.

I am an advocate of higher education and I believe that learning is a life-long endeavor. My educational philosophy is: “Education must be differentiated because it’s not one size fits all, each student has his or her individual learning style." Every student deserves a quality education regardless of their differences, preferences, and learning style.

Welcome to another exciting school year! This is another opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our Silver Stars. I am eagerly anticipating stories of great success and learning throughout the year. I am starting my fifteenth year as a Silver Star.

When I am not at school, I enjoy church activities, shopping, spending time with my family. I am looking forward to building a partnership with you and make this a great year for our students. Let's embark on this educational journey together, where we'll create a nurturing and inspiring environment that helps each student shine brightly, achieving their fullest potential.

Hello Skipcha family,

Thank you for the opportunity to work with your children! I am so excited to serve as Assistant Principal here. I have been with KISD for the past 15 years. I previously taught Skills, Kindergarten, 1^st grade, and was a Campus Facilitator. I have a master’s in educational administration from Concordia University.  I believe in educating the whole child by forming positive relationships with every student and their family. Building a community among teachers, staff, students and parents is an important key to increasing student achievement and academic success. I look forward to serving our Skipcha families and my door is always open!
