Participation in school clubs is a part of an elementary student's educational journey. These clubs offer young minds a myriad of benefits that extend beyond the classroom. From fostering teamwork to nurturing passions and hobbies, engaging in extracurricular activities provides students with valuable life skills.
Through clubs, children can develop social and leadership skills, make lasting friendships, and explore interests that might shape their future. Furthermore, it instills a sense of belonging and school pride, enhancing their overall educational experience.

Youth Ambassador Program

The Youth Sponsorship program is a team effort between the Child and Youth Services (CYS), the School Liaison Officers (SLO), schools, and other resources to provide transitioning youth with information, a sense of belonging, and an opportunity to make friends. Youth Ambassadors are students in 3rd-5th grade, who step up and serve as leaders of their class and school. Applicants for Youth Ambassadors should hold the following qualities:
- Respectful of individual differences
- Willing to listen to others
- Patient and flexible
- Passing all subjects at each grading period
- Willing to lead and serve others
- Communicates well with others
- Positive Attitude
- Problem Solver
- Good moral character
- Serves as a good role model for other students
Meadows Youth Ambassadors meets regularly throughout the year with the counselors and other staff to work on leadership and service activities. Each Classroom Youth Ambassador is teamed up with a younger grade classroom serving as a peer mentor to the students in the assigned class. Youth Ambassadors conduct campus tours, and assist with walking young students to class in the morning, as well as assisting in the front office for new students.Contact the counselors or front office about how to apply for this program. 254-336-1870
Club USA

To support your child, we have a club for students whose family members are deployed. This is called Club USA and we address issues that occur when a family member deploys or attends training away from home for a few months or more.
Typical points for discussion may include:
- All About Me
- Anger
- All About My Parent
- Worry
- Where is My Parent?
- Citizenship
- My Family
- Friendship
Club USA is for ALL grade levels and meets each month at times determined by grade level teachers and counselors to ensure that important class instruction is not missed. A student may join at any time during the year once the family member deploys. Please contact our counselors or the front office if you or another family member is deployed and you would like for your child to join Club USA. We look forward to working with your child. Throughout the competition, volunteer judges assess the students' efforts, awarding top individuals and teams in various categories. While the desire to win is strong, the primary focus remains on learning and having fun. Students relish the opportunity to collaborate, learn by doing, and make sense of the world around them.
Science Olympiad promotes teamwork, collaborative skills, and critical thinking, all while providing a memorable, hands-on experience for young minds. It's an event that combines learning, friendly competition, and social interaction, fostering a love for science and exploration. Ultimately, Science Olympiad nurtures the growth of aspiring scientists and fosters a passion for discovery.

The Battle of the Books is an exciting literary competition that engages students in reading, discussing, and thoroughly exploring a curated list of 20 books. Book Club members take on the challenge of becoming intimately familiar with these books, preparing themselves for the highly anticipated annual "Battle of the Books" event, a multi-school competition typically held in the Spring.
Participating book clubs from various schools across the district convene to immerse themselves in the world of literature while enjoying the process of preparation. This epic battle of literary knowledge sees teams of students from different schools come together to answer questions derived from the selected 20 award-winning books.
In this friendly competition, each team competes at their own school, with questions presented by district leaders. Teams collaborate to provide answers within a given timeframe, fostering teamwork and camaraderie.
In the end, the Battle of the Books is more than just a competition; it's a celebration of literature, teamwork, and the joy of reading. It inspires students to delve into the world of books, fostering a love for reading and the pursuit of knowledge.
