"Leopard family!" My name is Avery Polchinski, and I am incredibly honored to serve as your Dean of Instruction here at Roy J. Smith Middle School.

I was raised in Temple, Texas and have obtained degrees from The University of Mary-Hardin Baylor (Bachelors in Marketing & Masters in Education) and Texas A&M Central Texas (Masters in Educational Leadership). During my time as an educator, I have stayed close to home to make a positive impact on the community that made a difference in my life. Through my 8 years in education, I have been grateful to have served as a Classroom Teacher, Basketball and Football Coach, and Assistant Principal. I strive to live by the following life principles: (1) listen to understand, (2) a glass half-full mindset, and (3) work hard.
