Mr. Anthony Baney
I am both thrilled and honored to join Killeen ISD as the newest assistant principal at Roy J. Smith Middle School. I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our students and staff within this community.
Originally from Pennsylvania, I graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. My teaching career began at the very elementary school I attended as a child, an experience that has deeply shaped my approach to education. After relocating to Texas, I earned a Master's of Education in Leadership and Administration from Texas A&M University Central Texas. My journey in education has taken me through various roles in Waco, Lampasas, and Round Rock ISD, where I've had the privilege of working with both high-performing teams and those engaged in turnaround efforts. Additionally, my experience as a firefighter and EMT has further fueled my passion for service and community involvement.
Outside of work, my family keeps me busy and inspired. My wife, Katherine, serves as the Chief of Instructional Services in Copperas Cove ISD, and together we share a deep commitment to educational excellence. We have three wonderful children: Kaleb, our oldest, is a freshman at Texas State University studying nursing; Kaydynce, our middle child, excels at basketball, volleyball, and track; and Shawn, our youngest, is passionate about football and the hurdles.
I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging environment for our staff, students, and families at Roy J. Smith Middle School. I am excited to collaborate with each of you as we work together to cultivate a positive school culture that challenges students and supports their social-emotional and academic growth. I am really looking forward to meeting each of you and diving into what I'm sure will be an incredible school year!
With heartfelt gratitude,
Anthony Baney
