• Objective

Our clinic is here to support learning and student success. Our objective is to maintain a nurturing and caring atmosphere where students feel comfortable addressing their needs. It is our mission to deliver safe and competent care for those students attending our school.

Pertinent Information

  • Please keep your child at home if he/she...

    • has a fever of 100.0 degrees or higher *is vomiting or has diarrhea
    • Students must be symptom free for at least 24 hours without preventative medication. For a student sent home from the clinic, at a minimum, the 24-hour rule begins when the student is signed out from school.
    • Students who become ill at school are sent to the clinic for evaluation by the campus nurse. The campus nurse will call the parent if a student needs to go home or needs to talk personally to the parent. An ill student must leave school through the clinic.
    • Please call the school nurse if your child has been diagnosed with a contagious condition such as pink eye, strep throat, chicken pox, head lice, impetigo, ringworm, flu or has vomiting and/or diarrhea.

    Medical Conditions

It is very important for your student's teacher and the school nurse to be aware of ANY medical conditions your child may have such as Asthma, Diabetes, Heart Problems, Seizures, ADD/ADHD, Allergies (especially those requiring an Epi-Pen or Benadryl), etc.

    Medications

Students must have written permission for the administration of ANY medication made by a parent, guardian or physician. The school nurse CANNOT give ANY medication without written permission from you. Consent must be updated annually. Medications are kept in the clinic. Students may not bring any medication to or from school at any time.

    Written Permission Includes:

    • Physician's Name if prescription medication

    • Child's name

    • Name of the medication

    • Dosage to be given

    • Time to be given

    • Signature of Parent or Guardian
All prescription and nonprescription drugs must be in their original container, including cough drops. All medications (prescription and nonprescription) brought to the school must be taken to the school clinic immediately upon arrival. Students CANNOT self-administer medication in the classroom.

    Change of Clothes

If your student is entering a Pre-K or Kindergarten, it is mandated that your child bring a season-appropriate change of clothing that is placed in a zip locked bag or grocery bag labeled with the child’s name. Also, please discuss with your child the need to tell a staff member when they need to use the restroom and the importance of not waiting too long. Your student will not be dismissed from campus by walking, riding a bus, or going to daycare until he/she is changed into clean clothing.
