The mission statement of Mountain View Elementary Prek department is to create a community (parents, teachers, and students) where children will become independent, self-confident, curious learners who can work well with others. Through this program, we build a foundation for self-directed life-long learning.

Through purposeful planning, children will be engaged in meaningful experiences through an interactive learning environment where students feel confident to take academic risks. Differentiated instruction in all areas will provide an individualized education for our students. The mission of our First Grade Team is to promote academic & personal growth for each child. We will create a safe learning environment that stimulates thinking and risk-taking while encouraging them to become inquiring and responsible learners.

It is the mission of the 3rd-grade team to meet the educational needs of our students so that all students can succeed.

The fourth-grade team will work collaboratively to challenge students to reach their individual academic potential through engaging, relevant, and rigorous instruction.

Fifth Grade
Through the collaboration of ideas and utilization of team members' expertise, fifth-grade teachers will lead, by example, ensuring that students have the ability to collaborate, ask deeper questions, solve problems using higher-order thinking skills, and understand the value of teamwork.

Through the use of direct, cumulative, systematic, and explicit instruction, the Mountain View Dyslexia Specialist team will develop the literacy skills of our students so that they can realize their full potential.

The ESL team will create a warm, supportive environment where we empower emerging bilingual students to become socially and academically prepared to be successful in a global society.

Music
The MVES Music Department has three full-time teachers:Regan Willbanks, Gale Polson, & Brian Liechty. We utilize Kodaly, Dalcroze, Orff, and Feierabend methodologies in our classrooms. Our focus on music literacy includes pitch recognition and rhythm reading. We also use group gameplay to foster positive socialization and to encourage fair play. We are excited to be working with your children!

Hello From Coach Frechette & Coach Hunter! Welcome to P.E. at Mountain View Elementary School!
Mountain View coaches have lots of exciting activities in store for all of our students, some that we've done before, some that are completely new! The 2021-22 school year is shaping up to be loaded with movement, teamwork, fitness, and FUN! Please review the P.E. Expectations and Grading Policy for important program information. Parents are welcome to observe their students in action at any time. Just sign in at the office and come on down to the gym!
