Mrs. Wanda Torres-Colon, Assistant Principal

Hi! I'm Wanda I. Torres-Colon, one of your Assistant Principals! I am so excited to be working and supporting students, staff, parents, and community here at Richard E. Cavazos. I am committed to providing the best educational services for our students, meaningful and engaging learning experiences always maintaining high standards for all. I will be working closely with PK, K, first and second grade.  

I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Law from The University of Puerto Rico, and a Master of Education Degree in Instructional Leadership and School Administration from Sam Houston State University. I have spent my entire educational career here in Killeen ISD… this year is my 26th year!

I was born and raised in Penuelas, Puerto Rico. I have been married to Neftali Colon for 28 years. My husband is an educator at Pershing Park Elementary and we have two wonderful, smart, and handsome sons. Both graduated from Harker Heights HS, then from Texas A&M and they are now ARMY officers. Neftali is stationed with his wife Kori at Ft. Campbell, KY and my baby Gabriel is stationed at Ft. Carlson, Colorado. When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, traveling and visiting my sons, crafting, and cooking.
