Welcome to the Killeen Independent School District family and welcome to Willow Springs Elementary.
Military Family Counseling is provided by an MFLC Counselor at our school. Some services provide are listed below.
Provides a wide range of support for military children and youth, family members and staff who work with children by:
- Engaging in activities with children and youth
- Providing behavioral interventions in classrooms to assist staff in setting and managing boundaries
- Modeling behavioral techniques and providing feedback to staff
- Being available for parents and staff to discuss interactions with children and other concerns
- Facilitating psycho-educational groups
Issues Addressed:
- School adjustment
- Deployment and separation
- Reunion adjustment
- Sibling and parent-child communication
- Behavioral concerns
- Fear, grief and loss
The campus has a military family life counselor, Niara Eans, on-site every day to help military children and their families be more successful at school. More information is available in our front office.
