Michelle Hoffchen

I am Michelle Höffchen, and I am the librarian at Willow Springs Elementary School. I was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana, and spent the first 35 years of my life in the Bayou State, so I am a Cajun girl through and through. I am married to my spouse, who is a therapist in Killeen, and have two children—Cecilia (an Ellison Emerald) and William (a middle-school tuba player). We have our own little zoo at home—four dogs, two cats, a bearded dragon, a few fish and snails, and a yard full of deer!
I attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2004. In 2021, I graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Masters of Library and Information Science. Over the years, I have earned teaching certificates in EC-6, 4-8, 6-12 English Language Arts, English as a Second Language, Gifted and Talented, and school librarianship. Throughout my 20 years in education, I have taught in first, third, fourth, fifth, and seventh grades; served as a middle school ESL teacher; and am now in my second year as an elementary school librarian.
I currently serve on Willow Springs’s leadership team as school librarian, Parent Liaison, Military Liaison, PRide Team Representative, and Education Foundation Ambassador. I love to stay busy working with both students and adults, and I have a passion for building strong relationships with people and helping others to be the best versions of themselves. I absolutely love being part of the Blue Jay family and look forward to working with each and every one of you!
