Campus Transition Program
-
The KISD Career Center campus transition program, led by the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) students, models the student 2 student program. It is a student program that brings military and civilian students together to welcome new students, create a positive environment, support academic excellence, and ease transitions. This program provides support to military-connected students through peer-to-peer mentoring programs.
New students are given a tour of the campus to help familiarize them with their classes and are provided with a friend to eat lunch with on their first day of school. The new student is provided with a buddy, allowing them to connect with new friends and to learn about the campus, culture, and community.
