Students are always welcome to be part of one of the Killeen ISD instrumental programs.  Beginning orchestra starts in the 6th grade but students in the 7th or 8th grade who want to join can be accommodated.  Beginning orchestra classes are organized by instrument group (violins and violas or cello and string bass) so getting fitted for an instrument is a very important step.  When selecting an instrument, student preference, physical characteristics and the needs of the program are all factors to consider.  

Parents are encouraged to directly email the orchestra director at their child's campus to set up an opportunity to get fitted for an instrument.
