    Beginning Choir
    Classes are arranged in homogeneous grouping by gender to allow vocal instruction suited to the varied needs of both the changing male and female voices. Students will learn basic singing skills, sing in public concerts at school, and explore choral music using games and other special activities.

    Beginning Mixed Choir
    This class includes heterogeneous gender groups. In it, students will learn basic singing skills, sing in public concerts at school, and explore choral music using games and other special activities.

    Intermediate Choir
    Classes are arranged in homogeneous grouping by gender to allow vocal instruction suited to the varied needs of both the changing male and female voices. In this choir, students will concentrate on improving their singing skills, sing in public concerts at their school, participate in musical contests, and enjoy making music together. This class is designed for students with one year or less vocal experience.

    Advanced Choir
    Classes are arranged in homogeneous grouping by gender to allow vocal instruction suited to the varied needs of both the changing male and female voices. In this choir, students will concentrate on improving their singing skills, sing in public concerts at their school, may participate in musical contests, and enjoy making music together. This class is designed for students with one year or more vocal experience.

    NOTE: In order to participate in extracurricular activities in the band and choir program, students must meet the eligibility requirements established by the State of Texas.

    Concert Choir
    Classes are arranged in homogeneous grouping by gender to allow vocal instruction suited to the varied needs of both the changing male and female voices. In this choir, students will concentrate on polishing their singing skills and sing in public concerts, musical contests, and various auditions, including Concert/Sight-Reading Contest, Solo/Ensemble Contest, All-City Choir tryouts, and All-Region Choir tryouts. All Concert Choir students are required to purchase/make a choir uniform.

    Prerequisite: Departmental audition

    NOTE: In order to participate in extracurricular activities in the band and choir program, students must meet the eligibility requirements established by the State of Texas.
