Ms. Deborah Fay

My name is Deborah Fay and as one of the counselors at Live Oak Ridge Middle School, I appreciate you allowing me to work with your children every day.  I grew up in Killeen and graduated from Ellison in 1994.  I am also a product of having had a parent work for KISD for over 30 years, which shaped how I view education. I went to school at Central Texas College, earning an Associates of Arts, then Texas A&M University-Commerce where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I continued on to get my Masters in Counseling from Tarleton University. I taught for five years at Copperas Cove Jr. High then moved on to become a counselor. I am now starting my 21st year as a school counselor. I am happy to say that in 2018 I was recognized by Region 12 Service Center as the Secondary Counselor of the Year. I don’t take that recognition lightly and hope that it will be something I can use to bring more attention to our children on campus.

I truly enjoy being a counselor and believe it is what I was called to do. I look forward to working with each and every student at Live Oak Ridge every day I come to work. Each day is filled with something new to work on so that our students can learn how to become better individuals.  My door is always open to parents and students if anything is needed.

Ms. Emery

My name is Crisanta Emery, but some of you may know me as Crisanta Tidwell. As one of the counselors at Live Oak Ridge, I enjoy working with your children to help them be their best selves. School counseling is my true calling and I look forward to what we can do together through our program.

I grew up going to public school in the very small town of Pittsburg, TX, which is a world away from Killeen. Upon graduation, I attended Angelo State University in San Angelo and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree. I went on to begin my teaching career in Midland, Texas before obtaining my Master’s Degree in Counseling/Education from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. I was a teacher in Midland, then Killeen, for a total of 15 years before becoming a school counselor at Live Oak Ridge. My teaching career focused on Spanish and ESL, with a little bit of Texas History and Accelerated Reading thrown in for good measure. I have now been a school counselor for 6 years. The vast majority of my experience is with middle school students, but I have worked with all ages between pre-K and college freshman. Middle school students are, by far, my favorites.

I hope that together we can continue to do great things, and move forward into doing even greater things to help your children.
