• TBI - Texas Bioscience Institute

    Dual Credit Program @Temple College

To join the TBI program, students who have passed all sections of the TSIA2 may apply during their 10th grade year. Students have the possibility of earning an Associate's degree just like with the STEM Academy. However, TBI students are in classes that are all under the same roof with students from schools all over Bell County. There is a "White Coat Ceremony" for students new to TBI and a "Spots Camp"for orientation.  TBI students are expected to perform job shadowing and community service. KISD pays for a portion of the tuition, but students must provide their own transportation to the Temple College West Campus. Students take classes based on the agreement between KISD and Temple College.

To apply for the TBI dual credit program, students must

    a. Be in 10th grade,

    b. Have credit for- or currently be in- Algebra II or Pre-Calculus as well as Chemistry.

    c. Have passed or be passing Algebra II, Biology,  and Chemistry with an overall average of 80 or higher.

    d. Pass all sections of the TSIA2 test.

    e. Be able to provide your own transportation to Temple every Monday-Friday.
