Joanne Sheffield

Welcome to Eastern Hills Middle School! My name is Joanne Sheffield, and I am the counselor for students whose last names start with letters A-L. I grew up in Ireland, moving to the south suburbs of Chicago as a teenager and after several more moves, I found my home here in Texas. I love art, soccer, the Chicago Bears, and singing loudly. This is my first year as a counselor at EHMS. I have previously worked in other districts as a math teacher and a 504 facilitator.

As a school counselor I help students with emotional, behavioral, and educational concerns. I help with conflict resolution, social skills, academic planning, and fostering a safe space for students. I believe that for children to succeed they must find a place where they feel connected and heard. I would like to help make Eastern Hills MS that place for my students.
