Killeen ISD Communications Department Earns 50 TSPRA Star Awards

The Killeen ISD Communications Services Department earned multiple honors Wednesday from the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) for outstanding work in school communications and marketing.

The team collected Star Awards for every entry they submitted in the annual contest, including 28 gold, 20 silver, and a bronze for their efforts in video production, photography, graphic design, writing, and strategic communications. Overall, the team won four “best of category” recognitions and earned a Crystal Certification of Merit for the work behind the dedication ceremony for Dr. Jimmie Don Aycock Middle School.

The department’s dynamic campaigns and initiatives aim to foster a strong connection with families, staff, and the broader community, ensuring that key messages resonate across multiple platforms. By effectively communicating KISD’s mission and milestones, the department’s award-winning work supports the district’s goals—ultimately supporting student success.

“Killeen ISD is a wonderful place, and our team loves using our skills to tell KISD’s unique story,” Karen Rudolph, executive director of communications and marketing, said. “It is an honor to be recognized for the work we do each day to spread a positive school culture throughout our system.”
