Campus Athletic Coordinator Mark Humble praised the students, representing seven sports, urging them to continue to work hard in the classroom and in the athletic arena.

Several coaches praised this year’s senior class for exceptional diligence, exceling as individuals and on teams and particularly in the classroom.

Baseball coach Randy Culp introduced his largest signing class ever, with five students signing letters to continue their athletic pursuits. All are Academic All-District and four of five are Academic All-State.

“It makes all the difference,” Culp said, explaining that his players learned quickly and easily adapted to the team’s needs.

Girls track coach Rachael Hood introduced four of her runners signing to compete in college. They are all Academic All-State and in the top 10 percent of the class. Two are among the top 10 in the class.

A group of eight senior female cross-country and track runners carried a 98 average throughout four years of high school, she said.

“This is a time to celebrate, recognize and honor the days, the hours, the weeks, the months of athletic work and academic work,” Humble said.
