Killeen ISD Recognized as CTE District of Distinction

Killeen ISD was recently recognized as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT).
This recognition celebrates districts across Texas that demonstrate exemplary leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success through high-quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

“Being recognized as a CTE District of Distinction is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers, administrators, and students,” Director for Career and Technical Education, Patrice Robinson said. “Our focus on providing innovative, future-ready opportunities is opening doors for students to excel in today’s rapidly evolving workforce.”
The CTE District of Distinction program was created to highlight districts that excel in preparing students for high-demand careers. Honorees are selected based on rigorous criteria including innovative programming, alignment with workforce needs, and measurable student success outcomes. This recognition highlights Killeen ISD’s commitment to shaping the future of Career and Technical Education in Texas.
The Career and Technical Education program at Killeen ISD connects students with hands-on experiences through partnerships with local industries and advisory board collaborations. Killeen ISD offers 71 industry-level certifications, equipping students with skills that lead to high-paying technical jobs in the workforce. These efforts ensure graduates are equipped with certifications and skills needed for success in high-demand fields. Regular input from industry professionals, educators, and students keeps programs dynamic and aligned with workforce needs.
The collaborative efforts help us bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical experiences for students to gain the needed skills towards advancement in courses and earning industry-based certifications. This collaboration helps to connect students towards advanced level courses where student and teacher participation in our career and college fairs, advisory groups, and other campus, district, and state events to recruit and connect students and teachers directly with employers.
This ongoing support prepares students for successful transitions into life after high school and beyond. Our mission in Killeen ISD is to teach so that students learn to their maximum potential.
