• Interact club is still collecting mascara wands until January 31st, please donate your old used wands (cleaned) so that we can donate to the wildlife foundation! Stop by room 1110 to drop off your wands!


    • Softball Tryouts will be held at the Softball Field on January 24th at 4:30 pm. If you are interested in trying out for the softball team, you must have a physical on file with the athletic trainers by the 24th and must see Coach Robertson in room 2211. More information on Softball Tryouts will be given to you when you meet with Coach Robertson. Go Knights!


    • Harker Heights Interact Club would like to present our first annual fundraiser event, Interact Color Eggstravaganza 5K. This event is to raise money for Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), an organization dedicated to rescuing children from sex trafficking worldwide. Central Texas is one of the largest areas affected by sex trafficking. The 5K will take place on April 11th, 2020 at Harker Heights High School, 8am. Since our run will take place on Easter weekend, there will be an egg hunt, Easter bunny costumes encouraged, and fun for all ages!


    • Interact Club will be collecting items for Haybranch Elementary for their CIS program Until March 31st. Items needed are: toothbrushes, mouthwash, floss, toothpaste, hygiene items, healthy snacks, food items to take home, jackets (youth sizes), and socks. Other items are welcomed as long as it benefits the children 😊 please drop off donations to room 1110 or the front office!


    • Warm up with a good book this January with the library. Stop in and get the detail about the reading challenge. See you soon.


    • Spring Varsity Golf Tryouts! Varsity golf tryouts will be held January 21 and 22 after school at StoneTree Golf Course. If you are interested in competing for the Harker Heights Golf Team and have access to your own set of golf clubs, please see Coach Walzel in Room 2215 for more information.


    • The blood drive is Monday, January 27th. We still have appointments. Carter Blood Care will be here longer this drive. Please come by the table outside the cafeteria during lunches to sign up. 16 with parent permission. All bring your government issue ID. Thank you for giving this vital gift Knights!


    • The art department is looking for 40 responsible student volunteers to work at the upcoming annual art competition for Region 12 held at our school. Students may be able to earn up to 15 volunteer hours for working after school Friday and all day Saturday, February 14th and 15th. On Saturday, we will provide pizza, dessert, snacks, water, and a volunteer shirt to wear for the day. Please see the yellow fliers on the glass case outside of room 1106 for more information on how to sign up or if you are on the remind app the class code to join is @vaseworker, that's the at symbol, "v" like victor- "a", "s" like Sam, "e", "w", "o", "r", "k", "e" "r" or find the yellow flier outside of 1106 in the art hallway.


    • Seniors interested in the P20 Career Connect the Dots day, need to sign up with Community In Schools on the cafeteria stage. The deadline to line up is January 22nd.


    • Join the HHHS Mariachi! Coming Fall of 2020! Learn mariachi style and technique on guitar, vihuela, and guitarron while earning Fine Arts credit. Trumpets, violins, vocalists are also welcome! Contact Jeremy Cameron in room 1101 for questions or more information!


    • Hey Knights! There is an Excel Club meeting this Thursday morning at 8:15 in room 2311. We will be holding elections for the club’s officers. Remember this is an organization based on volunteer work and raising awareness for child abuse. Hope to see you there!


    • The Harker Heights Knights bowlers continued their domination of the CENTEX District this past Tuesday by “whitewashing” the Ellison Eagles 17-0 at Killeen Bowlerama to raise their record to 6-0.  It was not only the best team performance of the season, but the best by a boys’ team in nearly 9 years, with all five bowlers averaging over 200 – Jayce Borja (228); Jamal Mack (224); Ben Bosque (224); Robert Davie, Jr. (215); and Chance Blackman (202).  The Lady Knights ran into a tough Lady Eagle squad, taking the match to the last Team Baker game before the Lady Eagles prevailed 11-6.  The Lady Knights were led by Senior Shyanne Ciesiolka who averaged 197 and Freshman Cadence Johnson who had her best performance of the season averaging 170.  The Knights and Lady Knights meet the Killeen Roos at Bowlerama on 28 January.”


    • Students the Killeen ISD Academic Planning Fair will be January 23rd from 6-8pm at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center. This event is open to all middle and high school students in KISD. Come explore your option for high school and seniors there will help with Financial Aid and college applications.


    • If you have a RYLA application the due date has been extended to Thursday Jan. 23rd please turn them in to Ms. Michael in room 1110 before 430pm!


    • The Harker heights swim team competed in districts this past weekend. Boys JV took first overall. Girls varsity came in 3rd and Boys Varsity came in fourth. Timothy Brooks came in 2nd for 100 yard backstroke with a personal best of 55 seconds he also took first for 100 yard fly with a time of 51.57 breaking his own school record. Conner Strait took 2nd for 100 yard breast with a time of 1:05.56. girls got 3rd for the 400 yard relay with a season best time of 4:23.65. Boys took 3rd for 200 medley relay beating shoemaker by 2 tenths of second with a 1:48.53. Well done swimmers!
