Mrs. Crystal Smith

Hello Roadrunners! Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! I am honored to serve the students, staff, and parents at Meadows Elementary as an Assistant Principal. This is my 13th year in KISD, where I have had the privilege of serving as a 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Teacher as well as an Instructional Assistant. I have also served at the district level as an Instructional Coach and most recently, here at Meadows as Curriculum Instructional Specialist.

I grew up in Pflugerville, just north of Austin, and found my way to Fort Hood after marrying my soldier turned veteran. We have been married for almost 19 years and we have three kids— a 4th grader, 8th grader, and one who recently graduated from KISD and is a college freshman. When we aren’t at work or school, we can be found on the soccer fields, bike trails, barbecuing, or swimming.  

As your Assistant Principal, I am committed to fostering a safe and structured learning environment that cultivates discipline, respect, and responsibility. I strongly believe that through our efforts and collaboration, we can empower our students to become responsible, confident, and resilient individuals who are ready to make a positive impact on the world.
