Welcome, Bulldog families! It brings me great pleasure to join Ira Cross Junior Elementary as an Elementary School Counselor for the upcoming school year. Born in Jamaica and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I bring a diverse perspective to my role. As a mother of two boys, aged 8 and 18 months, I approach both my personal and professional life with boundless joy and determination.
My dedication is rooted in being an ally within our community, advocating for students and their families. I am passionate about nurturing confidence and character in our students, preparing them not only for academic success but also for the challenges they will face beyond their school years.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, ME, and completed my Masters in School Counseling at Alfred University in New York. Beyond my role, I find great fulfillment in exploring the outdoors through hiking adventures. These activities not only rejuvenate me but also impart invaluable lessons in perseverance and creativity which I integrate into my counseling practice.
