Howdy Bobcats,

My name is Ronald Sursa and I am an Assistant Principal here at Chaparral High. I am happy to call Killeen my home for the past 23 years. Throughout my educational journey I have been given many opportunities to learn how to assist students in multiple situations. I have been a KISD volunteer, substitute teacher, classroom teacher, Special Service Coordinator, CTE Instructional Specialist, and an Assistant Principal at both primary and secondary levels. Serving in these positions have helped me to acquire tools to support staff, students, teachers, and community members.

A little about me: I am a former United States Marine. I am married to a Rock Star Librarian here in Killeen ISD. I have two wonderful kids that are KISD students and that excel in Swimming. My son is the Capitan of the Swim team at Ellison High and my daughter is a freshman, and is also competitive in swimming.

I feel community engagement is one of the most important things we can do as educators to support our students. Showing our students what awaits them beyond the classroom, and out into the world helps them understand what it will take to be successful in life.

I look forward to the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. I will be assisting with the students whose last names range from E-J, but will be working with all students and teachers.

I hope to meet everyone, learn names, build relationships with students, parents, teachers and more.
