The goal of the Killeen ISD Teacher of the Year program is to recognize and celebrate the wealth of excellent teachers that exist across the district.  We applaud teachers who prioritize the needs of all children, who devote their professional lives to enriching the lives of KISD students, and who demonstrate exceptional gains in student achievement.

Philosophy of Education: I view my classroom as a 19th century clipper ship navigating the high seas, seeking adventure. As the ship's captain, it is my job to chart a steady course and lead my crew, my students, on a voyage of challenge and wondrous discovery. As the crew is only as good as their captain, I must set the tone, and model the behavior I expect to see on my ship, while my crew must competently heed my orders. We must trust in one another to succeed in our endeavors and reach our destination. Of course, no adventure would be complete without a good dose of laughter and celebration!
