    • The project has transitioned from the Design Development phase to the Construction Document phase and is currently on schedule.

    • The design team met with all stakeholders, including the Principals, on January 17th to review the site plan, floor plans, and detailed documents.

    • KISD Board of Trustees approved the Construction Manager at Risk rank order, with Bartlett Cocke as the highest ranked Construction Manager.

     
    November 30, 2018

    • The design team continues to refine the project design and work through big picture details of the site and floor plans.
    • The selection of the Construction Manager for the project is slated to go to the Board of Trustees on Dec. 11th. The district has chosen the Construction Manager at Risk project delivery method which means the contractor will be on board during design and will provide valuable input to the design team on constructability and cost management.
    • Geotechnical borings and analysis are complete, and the report has been received from the engineer.

    • The design team presented the Schematic Design package to the Board of Trustees. Board members provided valuable feedback and expressed strong support for the design of the building.

    • Schematic Design technology departmental review with Huckabee and KISD Facilities.

    • The design team met with several stakeholder groups over several days to share the latest version of the design and receive input.
    • A draft version of the Schematic Design documents were delivered to KISD on 9/6/18.

    • Initial site plan and floor plan concepts were reviewed with KISD staff and Huckabee on Tuesday. The feedback was very positive with a few requested changes that are easily incorporated.
    • The design team has transitioned to developing massing and 3-dimensional concepts.

    • Huckabee team is evaluating drainage patterns and existing underground utilities on/around the existing property to determine the best option for managing stormwater.
