Beginning Band

Students are always welcome to be part of one of the Killeen ISD instrumental programs.  Beginning band starts in the 6th grade, but students in the 7th or 8th grade who want to join can be accommodated.  Beginning band classes are organized by instrument group, so getting fitted for an instrument is a very important step.  When selecting an instrument, student preference, physical characteristics and the needs of the program are all factors to consider.  

Parents are encouraged to directly email the band director at their child's campus to set up an opportunity to get fitted for an instrument in the spring semester of their 5th-grade year.
