  • The all-new My 95/1 (KMYB-LP) is a Low-Power FM radio station broadcasting live from the Killeen ISD Career Center. With a tower located atop Ellison High, this student-run radio station offers students a chance to work in an FCC-licensed radio environment. Students complete projects for broadcast using the same equipment used in the radio industry while adhering to the same FCC rules & regulations. Through completing this course, Radio Broadcasting students will leave KISD with a diploma and a the opportunity to aquire an officially-recognized Radio Operator's license. In addition, the countless hours spent over the course of several years in the Radio Broadcasting course will give students something that radio stations want... experience. Computer technology within the broadcast industry has tightened station belt buckles while preventing many stations from offering the part-time hours needed to work at becoming a quality broadcaster. Experience at a licensed FM radio station, along with a portfolio of work to offer, gives KISD students many advantages over their competition. Students are encouraged to contact their counselor for more information on the courses offered at the Killeen ISD Career Center, not only in radio, but in many unique Career & Technical Education courses offered for high school students in the Killeen school district.
