A Message from Maude Moore Wood's Killeen ISD Teacher of the Year 2021

What an honor it is to be named Teacher of the Year and represent our Warrior Family! I am a 5^th grade teacher at Maude Moore Wood Elementary and have been teaching for two years. I grew up in Central Florida and attended Stetson University where I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education and minored in Environmental Studies. One of the greatest focuses taught this year in my classroom was multicultural literature through read aloud. Our 5^th graders have had many important conversations regarding social issues, many of which affect our student population and world today. It is truly the greatest gift of my life to be a part of my students’ education and their story as they write it.
